Earth Day - Day of the Child in Watsonville, California - Ramsey Park - April 23, 2006
New Native Inc. is proud to announce our participation in Day of the Child/Earth Day 2006 in Watsonville, California. About 3,000 parents and children were in attendance as this happens to be one of the largest community events celebrating our city’s children and highlighting local environmental concerns.
While the children were entertained with activities, such as a coloring contest and face painting, the raffle was a big hit with the parents.
Though many of the families who had attended had never heard about the benefits of attachment parenting, we were able to bridge that gap by providing various types of literature about contact carrying and breastfeeding, as well as the opportunity for the participants to wear our carriers with their babies during the event.
Our Friends of Bonding program was a viable component in our outreach efforts since it enabled families with marginal income to also receive the benefits of attachment parenting by making the carrier reasonably priced.
Below are pictures of our participation in the Earth Day event, including our coloring contest winners and some of the finalists entrys. Although we cannot show everyone's pictures, we'd like to thank all the kids for participating in the coloring contest. Coloring builds skills that will help you throughout your life.
